The ministries of Sovereign Grace Pasadena span many age groups, and seasons of life. Here are some of the ongoing ministries:

CARE GROUPS

Care Groups are small groups of 8 to 20 adults who meet together in homes twice a month. While our Sunday Meetings are a great context for worship, encouragement, instruction, and the Spirit's help, our care groups are the context where most of the care, growth, and relationships within the church actually take place. Care Group is the place where we endeavor to bring application to Sunday's teaching.

A care Group meeting typically includes some of the following: bible study, sharing, discussion, fun, encouragement, accountability, praying for one another, refreshments, finding places to serve, and looking for opportunities to reach out.

To choose a Care Group, consider joining a group where you know someone or simply find one which has the time and location which works best with your schedule. Whatever the case, you will soon find that you are building relationships with a caring family of believers. Care Groups at Sovereign Grace Pasadena are integrated (not separated into single, married, married with children, etc). We have appreciated the benefits of relating to, serving, and learning from people in various seasons of life. This is a healthy part of being a "household".

The Children's Ministry of Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena is for newborn

children through 6th graders. This ministry exists to aid parents in the teaching

and training of their children. We affirm that Christian parents are responsible

for the training and development of their children and the Children's Ministry

of Sovereign Grace Pasadena exists to support their efforts and authority.

Children's Ministry classes are held every Sunday morning as a part of our Sunday

morning worship service. Nursery & Toddlers classes begin at 9:45 AM. Preschool

through 6th grade classes begin at 10:45 AM. Our curriculum focuses on the great

themes and stories of the Bible, the characteristics of God, and the foundations of

the Christian faith. If you have questions, please let us know at:

What is our Purpose for the Parent Teen ministry?

Ultimately, all we do is to be for the glory of God. In the Parent Teen Ministry,

our purpose is to help shape young adults so that they live passionately

for Christ by applying the Gospel to their lives. We seek to train and equip

parents in their role of discipling their children and to train and equip

the youth to respond to their parents with faith towards God.

What is our Purpose for a Parent Teen ministry?

The Bible places the primary responsibility of training children with

the parents (Deut. 6:7, Eph. 6:4). The Bible also places the responsibility

for equipping both parents and children with the Church (Eph. 4:11-13).

These responsibilities are unchanging and are part of what it means to be

a Christian. Grounded For Life is intended to give focused attention on these

responsibilities.

Who is GROUNDED FOR LIFE for?

Any youth who have graduated from the sixth grade and have not yet

graduated from High School along with their parents are invited to participate.

Both parents will need to be committed to participate even though both parents

would not be required at each meeting or event. A youth would not be able to

participate without a parent or guardian.

How does GROUNDED FOR LIFE work?

The Parent Teen ministry will consist of two meetings per month. At the first meeting,

the teens and their parents are to attend. There will be some teaching and afterward,

everyone will break up into small groups for some application discussion. At the

second meeting of the month, all the teens will meet with two or three parents to

supervise. The teens will meet for about 30 minutes in small groups of three or four.

They will have some accountability questions to ask each other and time to respond.

They will use this time to encourage and pray for one another. The rest of the meeting

is free time for games, snacks, music, etc.
